The NEW Sleek Cream Contour Kit Review

IMG_9732

If you read my latest high street beauty haul (catch up here) then you’ll have seen that I picked up the new Sleek Cream Contour Kit. I was so happy when I heard Sleek were bringing this out as I’d always wanted to try cream contouring but I could never quite justify the £39 price tag of the Anastasia Beverly Hills version when I had serious doubts it was going to work for me. There was just something about cream contouring that seemed much scarier than using a powder and so I’ve always avoided it until now. The Sleek Cream Contour Kit is just £10.99, comes in 3 shades and well, it’s transformed my fear of cream contouring completely.

I picked up the Sleek Cream Contour Kit in shade Light but there’s also a Medium and a Dark version available to suit every skin tone. The lightweight compact contain 6 different cream shades along with a large and really handy mirror.

When it comes to contouring I always use contouring brushes but with the Sleek Cream Contour Kit, I found my fingers seem to work so much better. The shades soften easily when I apply them with my fingers and they’re so easy to work with and they blended into my skin so much easier than I thought.

The Sleek Cream Contour Kit contains ‘the ultimate contouring guide’ too explaining exactly where you should put each shade on your face which is so so useful. I apply the darkest brown shade to the hollows of my cheekbones, jawline and around the edges of my face to really define those areas and I use the medium brown shade to carefully contour my nose and chin. The lightest brown shade doesn’t really do much for me and I don’t tend to reach for it often. I love using the yellow shade to brighten under my eyes and teamed with the nude, I think they work so well together to highlight the areas of my face where the light hits aka the bridge of my nose, brow bone, tops of cheekbones and the centre of my forehead. After applying the shades with my fingers, I then use my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge to blend it all in and to achieve a really flawless finish, something the Sleek Cream Contour Kit definitely provides. To set it all, I then use my MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder in Light Plus which makes sure the contour stays in place but still lets that dewy glow this kit creates shine through.Processed with VSCOcam with hb1 preset

I love the results the Sleek Cream Contour Kit provides. It really defines my face and gives off such a gorgeous  glow too that’s so perfect for Spring/Summer time. Teamed with their Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette, this is a match made in contouring and highlighting heaven! If you haven’t tried the Sleek Solstice Palette then you can read all about it here.

I feel the exact same way about cream contours… they scare me! But I love the colours in this palette. Good to hear you are converted :)
