The Dreamiest Eyeshadow Palette: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Review
Where do I even begin with this palette? I don’t think I have ever fallen in love with a makeup product as quick as I did with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. When I went to add it to my basket on Cult Beauty, I came face to face with those words every girl dreads seeing…‘sold out’. The worst words ever? Naturally, I signed up to the waiting list and longed for the notification telling me it was back in stock. My god it took a while but not long after I’d written my New Years Resolutions (read them here) which included a resolution to stop spending so much money (whoops), the email arrived in my inbox and Modern Renaissance swiftly made it’s way into my basket. I just HAD to have it. And I am OBSESSED.
I’ve been wowed by every Anastasia Beverly Hills product I’ve ever used and it’s becoming one of my favourite makeup brands. I couldn’t live without their Dipbrow Pomade and don’t even get me started on the Contour Kit…So of course I was hoping the Modern Renaissance Palette would also join the love list.
The Anastasia Modern Renaissance Palette comes in cute lilac packaging. The only downfall with this colour is that it gets so dirty so quickly. I must have had the palette open for about 10 minutes and I managed to smudge black eyeshadow over the lilac suede design. Nightmare! However, I love how it has a mirror unlike their contour kit and I’m actually quite impressed with the brush. I think it’s better than so many brushes that usually come with eyeshadow palettes.
Now let’s get down to the exciting part…the shades. Erm wow. Amazing colour range? Yes. Long lasting? Yes. Easy to blend? Yes. Amazing pigmentation? Oh yesss. Can you tell I like it?! Modern Renaissance contains some absolutely stunning shades. My favourites are probably Love Letter, Venetian Red and Primavera but I really do love them all. The shades are just so vibrant, making it perfect for creating a bold eye look and although it’s not quite your natural everyday eyeshadow palette, there are some shades such as Tempera, Golden Ochre and Vermeer that could definitely work for that more natural daytime vibe. What this palette is however, is something I could NEVER get bored of. I could literally sit there all day long creating different eye looks with this palette.
If you’re thinking about buying the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette then DO IT. You’ll be wowed by it, I promise. You can sign up for the waiting list at Cult Beauty here.
