Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso – Review and Swatches

There’s nothing like a good blush to brighten your complexion, especially in the dull winter months. I’m definitely more of a peachy blush kinda-girl rather than a girly pink one and so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the much raved about Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, which is said to be comparable to Nars Orgasm

Milani Baked Blush

With drugstore products I never expect the packaging to be very impressive but the gold design does make it look a lot more expensive than it really is. However, once you hold this blush you realise that the plastic packaging is not of the best quality and it does feel pretty flimsy. I’m also not a fan of the extremely small brush provided, obviously intended to be used to apply the blush with. See the perfect brush to apply this with here

Milani Baked Blush in Shade 5 ‘Luminoso’

Shade 5 ‘Luminoso’ is said to be a luminous shimmery peach, a claim I completely agree with and is hopefully evident in the pictures below:

I absolutely love this blush. It gives such a gorgeous peach flush to your cheeks that’s perfect for everyday wear as well as a night out. It’s highly pigmented and so a little goes a long way – I can’t see me running out for a very long time. Luminoso is also very smooth on the skin with no chalky or cakey effect. Another excellent point is its lasting power. I always wear a primer but I do wear this all day long and the warm glowy flush remains on my checks until I’m ready get the makeup remover out. For a drugstore product I am very impressed!

Swatch of ‘Luminoso’

Many people have made the claim that this is a dupe for the ever so popular Nars Orgasm. However, I personally feel Orgasm is more of a pinky colour with more obvious glitter. Luminoso is definitely more peach with no glitter but just a nice shimmer, making it look subtle on the skin and providing a natural ‘luminous’ glow.

Sadly, Milani Blushes seem to be pretty hard to get hold of in the UK but they are definitely worth the extra postage cost to get it shipped over here. The quality of Luminoso is so comparable to high-end blushers and if you’re looking for a gorgeous pop of colour to your cheeks, then this beauty of a product is for you
