High Street/Drugstore Makeup Favourites

Some of my all time favourite makeup products are actually from the high street. I often find that just because something is three times the price of another product, it doesn’t always make it better or THAT much better. The following products are absolutely amazing and I’ve repurchased them again and again. I use them ALL the time and the best part is, they’re all super cheap so it’s great if you’re on a budget!!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (here)

This is one of my absolute favourite foundations and one I reach for more than any other. I adore Bourjois Healthy Mix and have recommended it to so many people! It’s a foundation I have used for years and even when I buy others, I always find myself coming back to this. It’s £9.99 and I have it in so many different shades to suit me when I’m tanned, not tanned, you get the gist. And because it is so cheap it’s totally acceptable to buy a few different shades! I usually wear either 53 or 54 and I’d say Healthy Mix provides a medium coverage with a radiant finish, a good option for summer and good for those with dryer skin types too! The lasting power of Bourjois Healthy Mix is amazing, I never have to worry about it going patchy or coming off mid night out.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (here)

It’s soooo creamy, has amazing coverage and doesn’t make my under eye area look dry or cakey. If you’re looking for a cheap concealer, I can’t recommend Maybelline Fit Me enough! I much much prefer this to my NARS Creamy Concealer and that cost me a lot more money!

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer (here)

Finding a good highlighter from the high street has always been a little tricky for me. I’ve always compared them to the Anastasia ones or my beloved Becca Champagne Pop but one that I absolutely adore is The Balm’s Mary Lou Manizer. It’s sooo buttery and pigmented and gives you a serious glow! I’d describe it as a warm champagne shade and one that blends beautifully into your skin and doesn’t make you look like a glitterball in the slightest. It is probably the most expensive product on this post but it’s still cheaper than those high end highlighters and well, you totally won’t regret it.

Topshop Glow Pots (here and here)

If you’re after an even more intense glow, I love the Topshop Glow Pots. These are little pots of creamy shimmery heaven! I dot these on my cheekbones, blend them in and then sweep a powder highlighter on top and it makes your cheeks look EXTRA glowy and amazing! My favourite shade is Gleam which is a bronze shade but Polished; a champagne shade is also beautiful.

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso (here)

Okay so you can’t buy this from our high street but I think you can from Australian and American high streets so it counts right?! Either way, I had to include it! The first time I tried this blush was years ago after seeing Lauren Curtis using it in one of her YouTube videos. At that point, Milani wasn’t available in the UK and so I paid an arm and a leg to get it shipped over to the UK from America. I actually think the shipping cost more than the product itself which is crazy but I had to have it. I’ve loved it ever since and was so glad when Beauty Bay started stocking Milani. If you’ve not tried Milani products before, then you need to! This blush is so perfect for summer. It’s a gorgeous coral shade with a hint of shimmer running through it and it gives your cheeks a subtle glow. Oh and it lasts all day long too!

Loreal Lumi Magique Primer (here)

I love wearing an illuminating primer underneath my foundation to make my skin look healthy and radiant and I love the L’Oréal Lumi Magique Primer. It’s a white shimmery liquid that makes you’re skin look so luminous, great for a more dewy look or to mix with thicker or matter foundations to achieve more of a glow.

L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara (here)

My favourite mascara everrrr. I remember when I first tried the L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara I hated it because I was so used to big fluffy wands. However, once I got used to it there was no going back! This separates my lashes and lengthens them so so well. I’ve had people ask me on many occasions if I’m wearing false lashes and I’ve always said it’s down to this!

Rimmel Lipsticks (here)

My favourite lip products from the high street have to be from Rimmel. I love the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks and how creamy and hydrating they are, how long the colour stays on your lips for and the shade range! The Rimmel Lip liners are also amazing, my favourite being Cappuccino. Lipstick-wise, I absolute adore shade 03 for an everyday lip. It reminds me a bit of MAC Honeylove yet it’s sooo much cheaper and actually way more hydrating!

Maybelline Gel Liner (here)

I have such a love hate relationship with liquid liner. Creating the perfect wing can be SO hard. Can anyone tell me their secret?! The Maybelline Gel Liner does however, make creating that perfect even wing a hell of a lot easier. I use my favourite Zoeva Wing Liner brush with this liner and it’s definitely the easiest product I’ve used for it and it stays put all day long too!
